I’ve been coming here fairly regularly since back when it used to be called The Pony and it has always been a favourite haunt.
As it’s a little bit away from the main hustle and bustle of the Bath St party zone, it tends to be a little bit quieter, which is part of what I love about it. But that doesn’t mean there’s a lack of atmosphere.
The main upstairs bar area is superb, with nice booths or open seating areas alongside the bar. Up the back is a larger, semi-private area which is great for bigger groups.
I was most recently in here with friends the night before my wedding to Mrs Gangsta and the staff were very patient with my South African visitors who were asking all about the various whiskies on offer.
I didn’t eat anything, but my friends who did said the food was excellent. The burgers looked outrageous and were pretty well priced.
Great beer, super cocktails, magic atmosphere and brilliant staff.
Probably my favourite bar in Glasgow. I love it.
